SCHOOL HOLIDAY workshops for children....
MORNING SESSIONS - 9.30am - midday - Primary students (gr3-6)
AFTERNOON SESSIONS - 12.30pm until 3pm - Secondary Students
Classes cost $40 per day
During the morning class, students start by learning how to form the patterns that are common in zentangling and how to set up a grid to create a zentangle. Simple and effective designs can be created. Often young students like to 'Zentangle' the first letter of their name.
The afternoon classes can explore different patterns of zentangling and ways to form design shapes (such as thoughtful use of positive and negative space) to create individual images on a subject of interest to the student.
Designs can be used for a variety of decorative & design purposes.
ORIGAMI - Wednesday 26th SEPTEMBER
Origami is a beautiful art form. A myriad of designs are available beginning with simple kabuto hats, boats and animals, and can lead to more challenging folds such as the iconic crane, and other playful shapes and designs.
CARDS, STAMPS, TAGS AND STATIONERY
Thurs. 27th SEPTEMBER
Using a variety of stamps, letters, images, papers, cutting, tying and drawing, simple, personal and effective stationary can be created. Come and play!
SHOE DESIGN - Monday 1st OCTOBER
Bring your own pair of white shoes and become the designer of your own shoe artwork! This would be a great continuation of the Zentangling class, as you could zentangle a unique design.
MODROC MASTERPIECES - 3D sculpture - 2 DAY WORKSHOP
TUESDAY 2nd OCTOBER & WEDNESDAY 3rd OCTOBER
Day 1 will involve creating a base shape using wire, card, foam,paper and plaster. After drying overnight, Day 2 will involve painting , decorating and completing your sculpture. Animals and figures are often a good starting place for a design. Creativity and individuality is encouraged!
PLAYING WITH PRINTMAKING - Thursday 4th OCTOBER
The surprise of lifting a print and seeing what is revealed is delightful!
The printing classes will start with monoprinting in various forms, on a variety of papers and progress to exploring multi-colored geli printing. Printmaking can be playful and process orientated and yet produce beautiful results that can be kept as prints or added to or used for other creations!

MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE WORKSHOP

Kerrie uses a mixture of natural materials and manufactured materials to created her sculptures. These materials may include cane, wire, paper, gut, cane, bamboo, string, wire , fabric, seaweed, plaster and found objects. In this workshop you will be guided to create your own individual sculpture with the lines, shapes, patterns and form that has meaning to you. fi you wish to use any of these materials, you will be guided in how you can use them in your artwork. www.kerriebedsonart.com

Caroline Hawkins learned this method of creating bush animal’s, from traditional indigenous (Gunditjmara) fibre artist Bronwyn Razem, who has given Caroline permission to teach and share this art form.
Hand-build with hay and wool to create a colourful, sculptural animal.
In this workshop you will be guided in
*creating a base form appropriate to your chosen animal
*techniques to create the main features
*creating the finishing details of your animal
The workshop is aimed at adults, but children from 9yo and over are welcome to participate.
Please note: The hay can be dusty and is not a suitable activity for those with respiratory conditions.
